Arthropodium bifurcatum 'Matapouri Bay'
A popular selection with broader leaves than Arthropodium cirratum, which have a bluish hue and larger flower heads. Masses of white flowers in late Spring to Summer. Can be used for coastal planting, but besides being frost tender it is otherwise a very useful and attractive plant for amenity planting. Protect from slugs and snails.

H 50cm x W 50cm, tolerates sun or semi shade and tolerates also very dry and exposed conditions.

The rhizomes are edible when cooked and can be found throughout the year. Rhizomes were once eaten by the Māori after being cooked by a hāngi.
