Chilean Guava AKA NZ Cranberry - Fruit Nuts Citrus
Mytrus ugni a New Zealand Cranberry make delicious jellies, jams and fruit pies and is an excellent source of vitamin C, fibre and iron. Fruit is very tasty and can also be eaten fresh or added to other fruits in desserts.
An ideal tree as a standard to plant as a feature either in a pot or potager. The fragrant flowers are delightful and delicate against the green foliage. In late summer through to early autumn, the fragrant berries hang on stems from the bush. The fruit can be eaten fresh (best to squeeze out the flesh from the skins as the flower end can be a bit chewy) or can be used in baking (Cranberry muffins), jelly or cordial.
