Variegated Ginger Mint - Herbs and Veges

A spicy ginger scent is the hallmark of variegated ginger mint (Mentha x gracilis “Variegata”). Its leaves are pointed and green, with a splash of yellow in the center. In summer, it bears lilac-pink flowers. Ginger mint is a perennial and a rapid grower with a bushy habit that reaches about 0.3m tall. It grows in sun or partial sun and prefers regularly moist soil. Ginger mint herbs are a delightful addition to fresh summer melon salads, as well as warm or cool teas and lemonade. Finely chopped pieces of mint can be added to softened butter for a delicious spread. Fresh grilled meats taste great with a lemon juice and mint leaf marinade.
